Wearable Watches – by companies like Fitbit, AppleGarmin

Wearables can help bring awareness to your fitness habits and help you see trends. They can help you set goals and hit targets. They also allow you to track your progress in fun ways to help keep you motivated.

I have a Fitbit and I love it. I have the Charge HR, it tracks your steps, records your workouts, measures your sleep quality, tracks food, water and just about anything else you can think of. It helps you set goals, gives you badges, and celebrates your accomplishments. It makes you much more aware of your movement throughout the day, and helps you realize how active you are being. You can compete with friends, send messages, and much more. With the Fitbit app you can see all your progress and feedback anytime or anywhere.

Fitness Apps and more

Downloading a few apps like the following help you track your fitness and also allow you access to workouts and training programs

Sworkit – body weight excerises based on the amount of time you have. My favourite is the strength ones. Can be done anytime and anywhere, with as little or as much time as you have.

Nike+ Training Club –This is a great training app that I love, plus Nike just remodelled it and it’s even better. Do a workout (strength, endurance, or mobility) or pick a training plan based on your goals of getting toned, getting lean, getting strong or starting up. The designed training programs can incorporate a mix of strength training, cardio, yoga and running all based on your preferences. You can also pick a training program based on the level of equipment you want, whether it’s bodyweight training, light weights or a full gym environment.

Nike+ Running – I love this running app. It tracks your runs, gives you badges and has training programs for all your goals. You can select the “coach” option and Nike provides a program for whatever you are training for. You can pick a 5k, 10k, half or full marathon and your level of fitness – beginner, intermediate or advanced . Then you are provided with a comprehensive 8-24 week training program.

BodySpace –This app is great if you want a program for the gym. This app has countless programs for weightlifting and can incorporate running as well. You select a program based on your goals, duration and number of weeks. It’s a great option if you like to hit the gym. Daniel, my boyfriend uses it and really enjoys it.

There are tons of other great apps for fitness along with things like the Crossfit workout of the day or  youtube videos for workouts or yoga, I personally love yoga with Adriene, she has a variety of videos for whatever you are in the mood for, from stretching, to toning, to getting ready for bed.

I love having my fitbit and using apps like Nike Running and Nike Training, they keep me motivated, they are rewarding and fun to use. I definitely recommend checking out a few options to dive more into your fitness this summer.

With love,

Lucy
